Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone could advise please. MY dad had his qualification verified last year as a level 3 in flooring (which in the UK was a level 2 NVQ City & Guilds). He has just submitted his EOI on 31st January and has now been told that he can no longer claim points as the qualification scoring system has changed and he now needs an Level 4 NZ qualification to qualifiy. The only problem is he is 56 at the end of April and time is running out. Has anyone been in this situation that maybe could lend any advice? Any help would be much appreciated.....
Thanks a lot

When you say "submitted", what do you mean exactly? What is the date his application was "received" or "lodged"? I think these are the important issues. The Skilled Migrant Policy changed on 4th February, that is probably causing the issues here. But if his application was actually *received* by NZIS on the 31st, I would definitely query it, just to be sure.

Hi, the EOI was selected from the pool on the 31st. We have queried it with the NZ immigration in London, unfortunately they told us that it didnt matter and the new rules apply to all with EOI's still pending

Sorry, I should have read more carefully.
If you could have got the ITA in before 4th February, you would have been OK. It's not the EOI that counts in this case.
Unfortunately, I don't know of anything you can do. NZIS have been emailing about this policy change since 26th November, and it was posted on their website. Were you on their email list?
