Hey all,
I took a 3 month trip out to NZ after I finished uni (last July) and even before going was having thoughts of moving! Wow what a place, I absolutely love NZ. Well I'm now working in the UK (oh I'm a mechanical engineer btw), and already have plans for a trip back out to NZ in October (relentless saving of money until then I think is needed!). So yep I'd love to move to Christchurch, my plans are to get a little bit of experience here and then move out there (hopefully with the company I'm with at the mo...if they let me :-P, otherwise it's the troublesome job hunting again).
So yep I love the place and the kiwis. Oh and let's not forget Speights (which I'm now forced to import :laugh) and hokey pokey squiggles :) .
Anyways that's it for my little introduction...hope you're all well and good luck with getting out to NZ!

... good luck with your plans Joe, it'll be good if your hopes of relocating with your company work out... who are you working for if you don't mind me asking?
The thing that grabs us most of all is the shear diversity of the landscape... we're very much outdoor people, so looking forward to seeing the delights of NZ, both North & South Island :)
We can't wait for our 'recce' trip in April... 4 weeks this Sunday :D

Hey,
I'm working for MWH in Warrington. I've just recently found out that MWH in NZ is crying out for people so that's pretty good news! Yep I'm gonna have to start looking at the flight prices and find out when my mate in NZ is getting time off uni (he moved out a year or 2 ago now I think) - he's just started at Otago Uni. I love Singapore Airlines so I'll probably fly out again with them (I think a longer stop in Singapore is needed this time too).
On a very good note I picked up my delivery of kiwi goodies this morning. So I've now got a pack of Speights, Tui, Macs great white, Squiggles, Toffee pops, Caramel Tim Tams and 4 cookietimes. I've got to make it last :laugh!
Yep you just can't beat NZ for the outdoors, got to love it. I can't wait to do the Nevis bungy again either! Oh well I'm off to the pub in the pouring rain now. Hope you have a great time out there red devil, wish I my trip was that soon!

... MWH, would that be Montgomery Watson by any chance?
If so, they've been ordering plenty of Inline Static Mixers from the company I work for, Statiflo International... as we're heavily involved in the Water Treatment Industry.

Hey, yep that's right Montgomery Watson. One of my friends who now lives out in NZ is trying to get his nan over to NZ too - all her family are pretty much out there and she's the only one left here in Poynton where I live. Immigration said the other day that it'll take up to year to process the application (she's sent everything off - haha and fit as a fiddle for 86!) so that's a nuisance. Apparently she's low priority :( .
Hope everyone is well, I've just had a cookietime and cup of tea so am feeling good :laugh !

Blimey, it's a small world we live in... I'm in Poynton too, just around the pool off South Park Drive :)

I was about to say the same thing! Glad to see you've got your priorities right also - getting the kiwi alcohol and chocolate!
Cheers

Hey,
Been a while since I've been on. Haha red devil it is a small world! I'm just on brookfield avenue. Been to the australian expo last week (don't worry it wasn't for me!) and the nz expo today in leeds. A friend of mine is planning on moving to nz or aus so I've gone along to them with her - well I couldn't resist hearing the accent again too lol. Booked my flights back to NZ for a hol last week...the bank account is a bit worse for wear but so worth it :laugh. Going for the whole of November - work was nice to let me :); flying with Singapore Airlines so spending sometime in Singapore too - what a great place. Hope everyone is well.

Mate, with your attitude you are going to fit in perfectly in NZ! It's a sensational place to live for those with a get up and go mentality...:cheers

Hey Joe, thats quite a sweet tooth you have there!
I'm just finishing up university and heading to nz in august. there is no harm in contacting the company and making arrangements now as it would take time to sort out.
best of luck
