After sadly leaving my cat in Seattle last July with friends, I will be finally picking her up from an Air NZ flight to Welly this Sunday after her 30 day quarantine in Auckland is all over. I had guesstimated that the total costs to get her here from Seattle would have been about $3000 USD. :uhoh
I just did the math however factoring in a GOOD exchange rate for my NZ-based expenses, and the grand total hit $4300 USD!!! Holy sh*t! :exit aaaahhh!
I guess this explains why I never became an accountant or financial planner! :laugh :cheers
I guess all said and done, my cat is like family to me. I have had her since 2001 when she was kitten. Since then she has driven with from Atlanta to Seattle (2600 miles), driven up/down the Alaska Highway from Seattle to Anchorage 2 round trips and lived on an Alaskan Ferry (in my car) for 4 days while I sailed on it. She's my travel buddy and little girl. I suppose as a 'parent' of a cat, $4300 USD is not such a bad total cost for having a great loyal pet for 7 years right?
I will post a photo of her and I on here when she gets here Sunday.
Just wondering, what has everyone else spendt on their cat or dog?
Cheers,
John
