hi there, just wanted to imtroduce ourselves and say hi...
We've been browsing this forum for a while now and decided to sign up and join in!
What a brilliant forum it is, and so helpful.
My husband and I are looking at immigrating to NZ in the next 12 months or so. Unfortunatley, neither of our occupations are on the shortage or long term skills list.
We'd also like to just pack up and go, as we have some family over there (husband's cousin) who advised us that this would be the best way. he told us his girlfriend went over on a visitors visa and then applied for various jobs and eventually got a job offer. She now has a Work permit.
My question is, can you get a job once you're there even though your occupation is not on the shortage or long term skills list?
We've started the process on our side by applying for the various unabridged certificates and my 1 year old daughters passport.
Thanks so much...
