Dia duit agus Kia Ora!

I'm 26, IT Professional (.NET programmer for anyone in that field).

From Monday, 3rd March I'll be triggering my working holiday visa in NZ. I hope to acquire a few short term contracts while traveling NZ & pursue activities that has always been out of reach in my mind (rock climbing, sky diving & snow boarding to name a few :)).

I'll be flying into Auckland on Monday, start looking for work asap and hopefully get some response. I'll head down to Wellington a few days later to meet companies for interviews I've already arranged. To be honest tho, I would prefer to stay in Auckland for sky diving/rock climbing then head to Wellington when the snow arrives. Hopefully I can get what I want :)

Anyone listening? Well that's about it. My name is Kev & I arrive in NZ all alone :)
Slan leat,
Kev.

Dia is muire dhuit Kev

In Wellington so can't help on the practical but best of luck in any case.

I find the Irish accent really stands out here - which is lovely.

seriously like, im meeting more and more irish moving here permanently not just on a working holiday. i think its going to take a while for ireland to get back into a decent shape which is kinda sad :( ill be going back there for a while as it seems there is a lot of work when i graduate..i may be crazy but my immediate family and all my partners family live there so yeah..

Cheers folks. Nice to see that this forum is quite active, didn't expect this many, if any, replies :)

Yeah, plenty of Irish folks around. I think that applies to every where, and as far as I'm aware there are less Irish leaving Ireland now compared to 10 years ago. So in that regard NZ should consider herself lucky!

I'm in Oz at the moment, after finishing my trip around SEA. A cliché route I'm sure but good fun all the same.

Thanks again and hopefully I'll run into a few of you guys along the way.
Regards,
Kev.
