Hi all,
I have been looking at this forum since my husband got his verbal job offer. We now have the formal offer (accredited NZ employer) and are ready to submit our visa appilcation. (Once we have sorted out medicals etc for us and our two girls - age 8 & 3)
Does anyone have any idea how long this will take?
We have just put the house on the market (cannot go until house is sold)
I am now getting a little anxious about the NZ move, somedays terrified, somdays excited - I guess this is normal??
Any advise, reassurance VERY welcome, thanks.......

Hello.:) Congratulations on the job offer!
Terrified/excited sounds entirely natural. It WOULDN'T be normal to be thinking it wasn't anything out of the ordinary!

Hi
Our application took a matter of weeks. Hubbys job was on skills shoratge.
EOI took just over a week to go through.
Application for PR took about 6-8 weeks.
Both were done over here.
We came over here on work visas and my son on a student visa, which took about 3 weeks to go through also.
You are bound to have 'up' and 'down' days, we had plenty, and sleepless nights, never ending lists of things to do.......
Its like being on a roller coaster!
Best of luck
Sharon

Hello and welcome. Yes, we're all sharing those feelings!!
Not sure about your time frame but clearly those with job offers are prioritised and most importantly you've got your house on the market.
All the best with the plans and like the rest of us, I'm sure you'll find this forum invaluable.

Hello and wlecome! We have find getting the house sold the most frustrating part of the process - so wishing you a very speedy sale and I'm sure the rest will all happen quite smoothly.
Enjoy the ride (if you can!!)

Welcome to the forum.
We're a bit further on and agree that selling the house is probably the single biggest step (once the visa's sorted, of course!). We're just waiting to exchange contracts, but it's been a long journey so far.
Good luck!

Hi - welcome to the forum!
We came over on work visas. We'd already had our medicals, so the visas only took 2 weeks to process... and that was just before Christmas (when they were apparently v. busy).
Good luck!

Hi BeHappy! and welcome to the forum !
Congratulations on the job offer, a very important step ! Yes, the contradictory feelings you are having are quite natural and I believe we all have them at some point in the process. You are, after all, setting out on an enormous adventure and completely stepping out of your comfort zone to do it. I'd be worried if you didn't have those feelings ;) !
This forum is a great place to vent some of those feelings and find answers to the myriad of questions that come up during the process, never hesitate to ask ! It's also occupied with loads of wonderful people who will offer you their kind support in times of doubt.
Good luck with the process and the house sale (have you found the enormous "Anyone on the market ?" thread (http://www.emigratenz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=11887) yet ?) and indeed, don't forget to enjoy the ride !
Cheers,
Silver
