Just a quick note for the benefit of anyone about to go into their first winter. Now is the time to order your wood and get your chimney swept. Remember to ask for and keep your itemised invoice for the work as you may need it for your home insurance.

I thought the sweep last yr did a decent job until I had it done again this yr!! I would recommend asking local friends to recommend someone to you. FYI it seems to cost about $50/60 in the North shore at the mo.

I recommended a wood supplier last yr and if anyone wants the no PM me (I take a while to get back to you but I will). They were great price last yr ( I didn't bother seeing if anyone was cheaper this yr) and they stack for you.

I totally second this post - we ran out of wood in July and it was nigh on impossible to get dry wood at that time. We were very very cold.

We have a good stock already ready plus OH brings home wood from work, as he is a joiner............ Had a good deal from a bloke in Havelock North!
