Well I'm beginning to start seriously looking for part time work and I've seen a few admin/reception jobs advertised but I've no idea what sort of hourly rate I should be looking for.
I'm looking at part-time positions so that I can still take & collect our son from school so I know that will have an impact. This will probably mean that I'll have to look at jobs for which I'm over qualified - I've been a PA for over 15yrs and back in the UK was doing Director level support. This isn't a problem for me but I know it will have an impact on pay.
Any suggestions on rates or places where I can do more research?
Thanks in advance folks,
Anneliese

Can't help with any rates (well apart from accidentally!) but just wanted to wish you luck on entering back into the wonderful world of work! :)
I think Bruckner was maybe doing some temping for a while - she may know.
Cheers

I have a friend that works in Auckland CBD in a receptionist/admin role.
$17 an hour full time, permanent position.
If the 'How much should I pay the Cleaner' thread is anything to go by, do you think a career change may be imminent?.....:D

Hi Anneleise
I get paid $16.50 an hour for a booking co ordinator job at the Hospital. BTW, its not much considering the amount of work i get, its crazy!

Julie - hmmm... change of career to cleaner??? Can't see it working some how given that I can't even keep our place clean! :laugh Thanks for letting me know about your friend though, all useful info.
Sharon - do you think your rate is poor because of it being a healthcare position or admin roles in general just don't pay well?
Tia - good idea, I'll drop Bruckner a PM.
Wish me luck folks! I rang about a job advertised in the North Shore Times today and it sounds perfect in terms of hours (9-2pm, term time only) and location (Glenfield). I'll be sending in my CV later tonight or tomorrow morning and if they are interested they'll want to see me on Friday.
Scarey and exciting all at the same time - gulp!

Hi Annelise,
My first temp job paid $16 an hour but $17 is also a reasonable rate to expect. Good luck with the job search. You'll be fine!
