Had 2 interviews today, one for a job in Ellerslie and one in Takapuna.
The first was for a vehicle leasing company, similar to what I am doing now, but they haven't finalised their job requirements yet and were just looking what skills I had to see if they could manufacture a role.
The second was one of those jobs where you wish the advert had a salary range on it. I was in the interview for 50 mins before I found out that the rate of pay was $20k less than I am on now. I made polite excuses to leave saying that I would need to look at our financial position before making up my mind. The annoying think is, I think I would have got the job, the company looked like a good place to work and I would avoid that trip over the bridge each day. So currently I am looking into the finances but don't think it is any good really. So I remain in Remuera but looking for that dream job in Albany.

The problem with the first is that the journey will be longer than I am currently doing, and my current employers have just written a job descroption around my CV but don't want to pay what I am worth (or at least what I think I am worth)

Is the journey much longer? Is the pay better?

Journey adds about 10 mins each way, we didn't discuss pay but I would expect a substantial increase. Put it this way, I will not accept if there is not a substantial increase.

mmmmm, difficult one! I'd wait and see what they come back wth money iwise...did they give you an indication of the time it would take them to get back to you??
