Hey guys, I just wanted to say hi.

I'm from LA and am thinking of emigrating to NZ. I'm 27 and recently got my MBA, but it's been tough going looking for a job. I figure I'll try somewhere where I could be in more demand. Of course, nice people and beautiful scenery wouldn't be too bad either :)

My plan for now is to try out living in NZ by going through BUNAC. If it works out, I might start looking for a full time job there.

Do you guys have any suggestions for me? Anything I should keep in mind in general.

Hi Dman,
I'm about your age (28), also from the US, have a job offer in engineering in Welly, and am preparing for a move there in a few months. Welcome to the forum, and if you want to talk about the process of moving from the US to NZ, send me a PM (you can send personal messages after you've made something like 6 posts).

Can't comment on BUNAC, but I'd looked into the WWOOF program which is sort of similar, being a farm worker volunteer program, and it seems like a fun option...

Best wishes.

Hello! Another American (28) who's in a very similar situation as yourself. I've stumbled into this opportunity to live in NZ and will be relocating to Queenstown shortly.

Good luck, and all your questions can and will be answered here :)
