I am going to UK in August for a holiday and really want to take some wine with me for a friend who came out to NZ a while back and fell in love with a particular brand.
What's the deal in taking alcohol in suitcase ? Is it allowed ? and what's the limit ?

Thankyou in advance !!

You can take 2 litres of still wine without having to pay tax or duty on it. I am pretty sure it's okay to put in your suitcase (I've packed alcohol in my suitcase before), but you need to pack it very carefully so the bottles don't smash!

If i was to take a few bottles in my suitcase does that limit what I can buy Duty Free ? (or would the nasty tax people know I had some stashed in my case too !!)

Wherever you carry it, it's the same limit. Whether you're willing to risk being caught with more than your allowance will be between you and your conscience. :exit
