Hi there,
I'll be arriving in NZ in Spetember this year. I'll be travelling on a working holiday Visa. I have 2 questions -

Firstly, can I work in any role under the WHV? I'm a QA engineer with 7 years experience.

Secondly, how easy is it to apply for a longer term visa from within NZ? Does sponsorship come into the equation at all?

I'll be 30 in August and I've Irish nationality.

Many thanks, and apologies if this is not the correct forum.

Regards,
- Richard

Yes, you can work in any job under a WHV, as long as it is not a permanent position.
You can upgrade your WHV to a work permit, if you find a position which there is no-one within NZ able or willing to do the job. I got all my work permits via this route. The employer has to complete a form and then submit it to NZIS together with your application.
You can also obtain PR if you follow the usual process of EOI, ITA etc.
