In the skilled migrant guide, it is mentioned that work less than 30 hours is considered part-time and from 30 hours and up is full-time. Actually this is the first time I see this information! I thought 30 hours is part-time as, so I mentioned my second job as a part-time job (I have another full-time job). Now since my second job is 30 hours, should I contact my EOI officer about this? Will they consider two full-time jobs? Please advice.

It all related to the job's relevance to your claim for work experience.

For example, if a person has worked in a job within their field for LESS than 30 hours per week, then NZIS class those hours as part time and only consider that experience to be valued at 6 months.

If however the hours of work for that same job were more than 30 hours per week, then NZIS class that as full time employment and therefore award the full 12 months experience.

That's why your previous employer has to not only state the dates they employed you and title of your employment, but also the hours worked.

Hope this helps.

Just to clarify :)

As Julie says, NZIS takes 30 hours or more per week to count as 1 weeks experience so even if you did 60 hours a week for a year then you will still only be able to claim 1 years experience.

Part time work is actually given on a proportional basis e.g. Three years work experience at 10 hours a week would allow you to claim for 1 years experience.

If for 1 year, you had a full time job for 30 hours a week and also did a part time job for 20 hours during the same week it would still only count as 1 years experience.
