Sorry, can't offer any recommendations but was going to try Symes De Silva (http://www.symesdesilva.co.nz/main.htm) as found some good reviews and didn't seem too expensive?

I know of a good Wellington orthodontist (works upstairs from De Silva)

Definitely Symes de Silva - not the cheapest in town, but very good! And if you happen to have an NZ Student IDCard you get discounts on most treatments.

I've had a couple of check ups and small filling a City Dentist on Featherston Street.

It was very friendly and painless, but I haven't had to do anything serious there.
