Last week it was Jonah Lomu at the PTA meeting.
Today I've seen Jerry Collins (All Black) in the Parade Cafe, on Oriental Parade, Wellington. I then get in the car and drive up Kent Terrace alongside Terry Serepisos in his Ferrari F430 F1!! Terry owns the Wellington Phoenix Football team, and was the guy who brought Becks and the LA Galaxy to Wellington.
So, which other 'celebrities' have forumites bumped into in NZ??

Oh, oh... saw Sarah Wots-her-face in Auckland park buying an ice cream - she presents Good Morning with Brendon and wots-his-face... I'm sooo bad at names/celebrities...:o
And, while in Welly a couple of weeks ago we sat next to Jonah Lomu and a bunch of other rugby players while having brunch in Floriditas on Cuba - he was sat with others who were so hair-gelled up I didn't recognise them - not that I would anyway - but OH said they were also players!!
Thirsty Merc lead singer at Flying Burrito Bros in Chch on Woz's 40th...
Trouble is, I don't usually realise I've seenn a famous person until someone points it out to me! :o They look so different in real life...
.. and, since Jonny Morris (aka Animal Magic) told me to eff off when I rushed up to him on Bournemouth beach when I was 13 for an autograph I don't tend to autograph hunt anymore....

Loads of people from Shortland St use my gym, as do Auckland Blues and the cricket team, so I'm always seeing them about.
I often see NZ slebs around and about in town or around my neighbourhood.
My best sleb spots in NZ are Charlize Theron in a bar in Auckland when she was over to promote a movie she was in. (Can't remember which one though.)
And Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers was in my local taco shop in Ponsonby the day before their first Auckland gig last year. He was behind me in the queue and asked me what was good to have, and I started chatting away to him before I realised who he was. Really nice guy.

Did he say it in a strange, giraffe sounding voice or was it more of a tortoise tone?

Will let you know in a few weeks as i have been asked to organise a charity football match here in TA for a girl who has suffered a bad stroke. As i used to play for the Corrie football team my first port of call will be Adam Ricketts, and Shorty St, and hope he can help out with names to pull a crowd.
Have delivered to Jono Gibbs though.

because of the industry i work/am training in i meet a lot of celeb's/quasi celebs (ie only famous to a niche). i just finished working with the ukulele orchestra of great britain (nicest and most talented people ever, seriously), jim bolger (ex prime minister) is a parishoner at my old church, melanie lynskey came to my nana and poppa's funeral her mum and dad live/lived? next door to a great aunt of mine. She was filming a movie recently written by my dad's cousin antony mcCarten who wrote "Ladies Night". arent i a name dropper. sickening really. Shook Bill Clintons hand in ChCh yonks ago, when he was still president. have met a few kiwi actors, lots of kiwi musicians (i was once a very good groupie.)..

In 2005 we went round the tourist site with the huuuge kiwi outside - forgotten the place's name. If this wasn't exciting enough we shared our tour with........ The von Trapp Family!!!! :exit
They were over from the States for a tour, all three generations. We probably got an extra special tour as they were there and afterwards in the cafe we got a song too -so sweet. Seriously though they did sing with lovely voices, sounded all in tune and with no music, but then I am tone deaf.:)
Then they followed us to Hobbiton the next day.
