Exactly how long does it take to get belongings shipped door to door on average? We are hanging around in UK for a month after the stuff has gone in the hope that we don't have to wait too long in NZ and we are planning to go straight into an unfurnished rental

We have been told 6 to 8 weeks and most people we know over here waited about that time. If you have only a part container then it could take longer depending on where the other goods in the container are destined for.

From memeory ours took approx 7 weeks door to door. We managed in an unfurnished house for 5 weeks. I packed a duvet, knives and forks that sort of thing. We purchased a new matress when we got here, the rest other forum members lent us bits and pieces to see us through.

If you are a few weeks without your furniture just shout if you need to borrow anything. It was all the little things that you don't want to buy as it is opn it;s way.

Hi!
Our container left our old house on the 4th January, and we took delivery to our new home on Friday 29th Feb, so 8 weeks for us. If I'd done the paperwork quicker at this end, we might have shaved a week off...
