Hi Everyone,
Just a quick question. Can you only send your qualifications for assessment to NZQA once you have submitted your EOI?
The reason being is that I would like to know if my points calculation would be correct or actually less than i would have submitted.? (hope everyone is confused:) )
Thanks
Jeremy

On submit, you have to state that your qualification has been assessed by NZQA if you claim pts for your qual. and I think you may need to enter your PAR number (hope someone correct this if I'm wrong)

given that you have to pay to get your qualification assessed i wouldn't actually bother unless you need to..
depends entirely on what your qualification isas to whether it will need assessment (and if oyu have a job offer etc)
did you enter your qualificaiton or your EOI?

Hi Jeremy, you're not the only one that's confused. I only started with my EOI yesterday and I just got more and more despondent. I originally did a trade and studied a little and got a technical diploma, but that's here in SA. So when I came to the question where it asks if it's "recognised" and then thereafter it says "if your answer is no to question number whatever you score no points"...oh man, my points will be pathetic! OR...does someone physically assess it and manipulate the points wherever necessary?
I browsed around trying to find a link where one could find out how to have ones qualifications assessed for recognotion, but I couldn't find anything! Can anyone lend a hand here?

Before I submitted my EOI, I had sent a Pre-assessment application to know whether my BSc was recognized or not. You can do this on http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/, it is called pre-assessment for immigration purpose. It nearly takes three weeks or a bit more to get an answer.
Hope that helps :)

also try this page on the NZ immigration website:
http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/general/formsandfees/formsandguides/lorq/
has a list of countries, click on that, then search for your qualification.

The Pre-Assessment is only for immigration purposes only. Most forumites say its a waste of money, but most of the time, they will ask you for a full assessment. A full assessment is better IMHO because at least it will be recognised in NZ.

Thanks all for the help. Yes, those fees, once converted to South African currency, are hectic, nevermind the cost of the EOI itself.
