At last....Courier Post this morning :D
Think we deserve a few bananas, It's been an emotional 5 months here particularly for me as I have not settled as easily as I thought I might.
This news helps in the process though because it takes a load of my mind knowing that I won't be an 'overstayer'. OH and daughter both have work and student visas, but my passport dictates that I should return to the UK this April when my visitors visa expires.
I suppose it just goes to show that you can come from the UK, look for a job in line with the SMC and submit the paperwork from here (whilst on holiday!!!) and still get PR if everything falls into place?
Just gotta get over the 'culture shock' myself and start enjoying our new life I guess. Next step for me then is a job and some friendship networking.
Thanks to all of you for putting up with my 'whingeing pom' attitude when times have been difficult - I know I've been a pain. :cheers
Let's hope that this is the first day of the rest of my life then, and things can only get better from here

:raebanana :raebanana :raebanana , have some nanas...
the fact that you wont be an overstayer in the next few weeks should make you feel a bit more settled and secure... hopefully it rubs off into other areas. :yes

Congratulations - you've really persevered and it's paid off.
No, you haven't been a pain. I for one know exactly how you've been feeling. We all whinge from time to time - been there, done that and sometimes still do !!
Like you say, get some friendship networking done now and things will soon start to feel even better.

Heres some well deserved nana's Lesley :raebanana :raebanana :raebanana
I still feel unsettled sometimes, its been worse just recently with all the visitors from the uk - but all of them say we've done the right thing!
Just give it time, remember the reasons you wanted to leave the Uk, and try to get out there and meet some more people.
Good luck!
