We will arrive in mid April and our things should arrive about a month after. Please help me with average temperatures in Hamilton and what shall we pack? I know they have shops in NZ but all help appreciated. Is there anything that we should definitely bring? Thank you all

Layers are the key. :D

It should still be nice and clear in April but the temp can start off a little chilly first thing in the morning (well out here in the sticks anyway). It can warm up really quickly though, especially if you're running around after rentals and stuff! :laugh

You'll probably not need it (veinites x'd fingers) but a waterproof would be a good idea too, rather than a thick winter coat. (Famous last words eh :uhoh)

Sunscreen, it's easy to burn, even on overcast/windy days.

Are you going to be working? Same as the above applies really, a top layer like a suit jacket, something you can slip on and off easily.

HTH.

A fleece jacket is priceless in the "winter" here. Waterproof too if it lashes down.
The ol' gilet / bodywarmer is another useful piece of kit if you like wearing those, that is all Jan wore last year, coupled with a long sleeved top, and she is noticeably a warm weather person so it can't be that cold!
That is our experience from last year, nowhere near as cold as UK was for us - most I wore was a fleece, usually a sweatshirt was enough. Many days were T-shirt weather though :laugh

Oh, we in Cambridge just down the road from Hamilton. Good luck with the final bits and pieces, safe travelling.

If you can get a breathable waterproof, (they are quite expensive here), mine isn't and there has been many an occasion where I have opted to get very wet as its just too hot and stuffy to wear my waterproof!

Cheers

DEFINITELY get a decent waterproof......it is probably the thing I would reccomend bringing over anything else!

And try and bring stuff that you can wash and dry easily until the rest of your stuff arrives...it can be a complete pain doing laundry when you are using a launderette etc.....unlike the UK there are no radiators to drape wet laundry over. When the weather is damp it can take ages for some stuff to dry, despite it not being all that cold.
