My eight year old is diabetic, can any one tell me what the support the NZ health system gives to young diabetics. With the NHS in our area she has a diabetes nurse and sees a consultant every 3 months. This sort of support is particulary important for diabetic children as good contol can vastly diminish the negative effects in later life.

Hi,
Although not a youngster. I have type 1 Diabetes and find the Diabetes treatment in NZ better than the UK.I would imagine the care for youngsters is as good.

Agree with that! My DIL and little 4 year old grandson have type 1 diabetes and the help they have and treatment they receive in NZ has been absolutely second to none.
