Am wanting to get Satnav for when myself and partner do our road trip to UK this year.
In your opinions, who do you think is the best - TomTom or Navman ? Also, does anyone know how much it would cost to get UK maps ??

Thanx in advance

Used Navman in the past in work, not really that impressed with it, tended to just use a good road atlas when I needed it.

Are you just getting it for the UK? Or for NZ and want to take it with you to use in the UK?

You should check out the prices of the maps because they are very expensive if you aren't going to get much use out of them.

You would probably be better renting a car that comes with SatNav.

We would be buying here (and maps) pretty much just to use on hols in UK as dont see the need for it in NZ, so we will prob sell it once we come back - are they terribly expensive ?

The SatNav is expensive and if you need different maps than the ones it comes with then these are £40 upwards depending on make and model.

If you were only going to use it for 2 weeks then it would be cheaper to just rent a SatNav itself including the correct maps. You can rent them separately from renting a car if necessary.

Hi -

I just bought a SatNav - just the basic TOMTOM but it is brilliant! Mine cost £119 but if you shop around you can get them for about £80.
