Hallo to all. This is my first time on the forum. We (me and my family) are planning to relocate within the next 12 months. Is there anyone that can give me info with regard to the fishing industry in NZ. I want to find out about permits, boats and so forth. Thank you.

Hubby plans to go fishing and had hoped to go, but just hasnt had the chance yet, we've been so so busy.

I bet someone on here will be able to help you, everyone seems to be into fishing out here.

We were meaning commercial fishing with a handline from a boat. That's the way we do it here in Cape Town, SA. This has been my hubbies main source of income for the past 11 years. Do you know of any web sites that we can go into?

You could try www.fish.govt.nz and ask them your queries. Ministry of Fisheries.

2 of the main fishing fleets in NZ are Talleys and Sanfords. They are often looking for employees...
