Yee-haa, just jumping up and down and screeching because I've just had a JOB OFFER! Yes really AND its permanent and it's NOT conditional on getting a place at Auckland Univeristy and I cannot believe it is real! Have just run down the lane to get another forum member to read it for me, as my eyes can't focus on it!!

So having struggled through a day at work after reading the offer at 6.30 am, have just re-submitted my EOI with 180 points; oh how good that feels after our measly 110 points ! And we've just sold our house and our EOI was only in for 2 more draws! How lucky are we!?

Now to tell the kids they won't be having a summer holiday this year as we'll aim for July.
Then, watch out anyone in Cambridge because I shall be bombarding you with questions!

Just going to read the offer through one more time to triple check!

Well done Carey. :clap Must say that I'd go for October rather than July. That way you miss the winter here and leave at the end of the northern summer.

Thanks again all.

For those of you who have been in this position, did you go ahead and book your medicals before ITA arrived? Feels like we're tempting fate as we haven't even been selected from the pool yet- and do you think it will be a day late next week because of the Easter weekend?

Just seen this thread - congratulations. Have :raebanana and :cheers :cheers .
I remember when you applied and were a little worried with 110 points, must be fantastic being that close.
180 points - you will be picked this week!
ITA - 3 days or so after your NZIS link turns from selcted to decision succesful - should be quick as you have a job offer.
Medicals - you should be able to find some in this area that can book in 1-2 weeks notice anyway, but your choice.
Do police checks now as they take up to 40 days (usually about that long) and are valid for 6 months afterwards.

Enjoy your last few months before you go.
