Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good beachside hotel in Los Angeles area? We were going to stop in Singapore for a few nights but the hotel costs are a lot cheaper in the US and Singapore hotels don't seem to have rooms for 2 adult and 2 children which means booking 2 rooms - at least on the sites that I have tried?

Any info greatly appreciated,

Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach have some decent beachside hotels not to far down from LAX. (10-15 min) They are smaller and more of the laid back type rather than resort-like.

The Beach House at Hermosa Beach is pretty nice and right on the sand of a very nice beach in a fun town.

In redondo there is the Portofino Yacht Club or the Crown Plaza close to the water but not necessarily ON a typical southern california beach.

Other than that, you'll have to head into Venice or Santa Monica where the beaches aren't quite as nice, but there is plenty going on and lots of larger hotels... but again, not really on the sand.

I agree with that - it's a great hotel, right on the beach and only 15 mins from LAX. Hermosa Beach is quite small and relaxed with everything a short walk from the hotel.
