David arrives in Auckland Next week:eek: and needs to hire a car at Auckland Airport. Can anyone recommend a car rental company who is based at the airport to save him taking transfer busses to off airport locations.

APEX Car Hire (Auckland Airport)

Great company......half the price of Hertz, Avis, Budget, etc.......just had to call them from the airport they sent a minibus for us to take us to their site which is about 2 miles away they loaded and unloaded our luggage into the bus and then into the car. It was ready and waiting just had to sign the paperwork . On return the guy just asked us to fill in the paperwork while the bus driver unloaded and loaded the luggage onto the bus ready for the drive back to the airport. Didnt even go to check it took our word for the mileage and that the tank was full of petrol. Would recommend.

I can also vouch for Ezy (should probably list them on the aforementioned company review thread, seeing as I started it) having used them loads of times, good, clear, cheap reliable cars even their ‘El cheapo’.
However their now trading as Jucy rentals http://www.jucy.co.nz/ they are very close to Auckland airport with a free shuttle bus from both terminals.

I'll add to Jucy's praises, just hired a car for a week and a camper for three weeks to tour the northland, good rates and hassle free so far!
