Anyone know much about Omaha Beach? I am moving from Southern California and will be working in Snells Beach and am considering this area. Homes look very affordable and i hear there is some surf!

Ah, I think i finally get what swiss miss means, its a place to stay for two nights and not many stay for a third?? Is that what you meant?

It has got a reputation as a posh holiday suburb, I dont think huge amounts of people actually have their main homes there, more 2nd homes of the rich and famous.... a lot of it is fairly new too, there was a bit artical about it in the herald a few weeks back...

Omaha seems nice and its close by where ill be working so its near the top of my list right now. if its more a holiday destination is it pretty deserted rest of the year?

Omaha is nice, but a bit quiet. No services, and as JubJub said, is mainly used for holiday homes and baches. It's never really deserted, as there are always people staying in their houses at weekends or whatever.
It just doesn't have much character or atmosphere as a place to live, in my opinion.
