I just want to check that I am reading this right.

From: http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/stream/work/worktoresidence/caniworkinnz/accreditedemployersrequirements.htm

If you have a job offer from an accredited employer in New Zealand, you can apply for a work visa or permit for up to 30 months under our Talent (Accredited Employers) Work Policy. When you have worked here for an accredited employer for two years you can apply for residence.

So we have to wait for two years before we can submit our EOI? I thought we could do this straight away.

full time (on average, at least 30 hours a week)
for at least two years
with an annual base salary of at least NZ$50,000 (gross)
in the employer’s main business activity, and where they are directly responsible for your output.

You either have to work 30 hours a week OR make $50,000.

How long are the medical and xray valid for?
We will be getting this done in NZ.

Also, to apply for PR under the Skilled Migrant (including my partner and daughter) - my daughter needs to be totally or partically reliant on an adult. How there a limit to how much she can earn before she becomes non reliant?

We arrive in NZ in 35 days! :raebanana

no you can apply at any time, I think all that means is that's their recommneded timescale based on how long the WTR lasts, a lot of the wording in NZIS documentation can be a bit obtuse

as for the second bit, no all of those conditions apply for the WTR to be and remain valid.

medicals are valid for 3 months (only counting up until you suibm,it them with your application), police checks 6 months.

No idea on your daughters earnings level query though.

so how much do you need to earn hourly to make $50,000?

$50,000 divided by 52 gives you $961.53 (and a bit) a week.

$961.53 divided by 40 (assuming a 40-hour week) gives you $24.03 (and a bit) per hour.

If you only did a 35-hour week, the rate would be $24.47 (and a bit) per hour.

Probably already been answered :)

If you apply for a WTR then it is meant to be an easy way to achieve residence (for those that can't apply straight away), so for those people they need to work in NZ for 2 years before they can apply for residence.

For others, they either go for a WTR for speed or because they were advised to (even though they could have gone for PR), for these people they can start their PR application at any time, so if this is you, then submit your EOI as soon as you want.

You have to work at least 30 Hours AND earn at least NZ$50K (not or).

As said by others, the medical is valid for 3 months and the police certificate is valid for 6 months, so its possible to use the same ones for your WTR and then also for your ITA but you have to be quick with the application, otherwise you will need to re-do them.
