Does anyone have experience with buying a kitchen in NZ? My husband and I have renovated three houses in UK with B&Q and MFI - cheap, but looks good. We plan to renovate a house when we get back but don't know if it can be done on the same sort of budget as UK. Does NZ have the same type of bugdet kitchens? Do the prices compare to UK?
Thanks, KiwiTS

Hi KiwiTS
There is Mitre 10 over here (UK equivalent to B and Q, also same colours of orange and black!) and Placemakers, which should be of use to you. They are the only ones i can think of off top of my head around this area, depending on where your heading, someone will be arounf i am sure to advise of anymore!
I am lucky, hubby is a joiner, so he did all ours for us, so unsuer of prices sorry!
Good luck with your plans
Sharon

If you like the MFI products then you might like shopping here as they import from MFI!:

We bought our kitchen from Kitchen Express. I have fitted three kitchens before but as they were only charging $500 to fit it I left them to get on with it.

To give you an idea of cost, their prices are here:

How sad is this..........?
We've actually bought a kitchen from Ikea to ship with us! :roll
Its a stand-alone type that will look good in either a modern or traditional house.........
We've seen so many 'do-er uppers' on the web, and some that have been 'done up' and still look hideous, so last year we bought the kitchen. Its been stacked in my spare room for nearly a year now! Cant wait to get it made up! :raebanana
(Mind you, we're not taking much furniture with us, all in all probably a half container, so its not like we're 'doing without' something to get it to fit in.).
