David has now landed in NZ:raebanana , had a good flight from Heathrow with Air New Zealand. Went via L.A where he stood in line for most of the time to get his green card stamped then back on the plane to Auckland. He is delayed at Auckland at the moment due to Christchurch airport being closed because of fog:roll
Then its a few days in Christchurch so that he can drive down to Lake Tekapo to visit the church where we got married and to pop in to a couple of companies to give out C.V's.
Off to Auckland at the weekend in time to meet me on Monday (I leave Heathrow Saturday)
David has got two interviews in Auckland then we are going to spend some time looking at areas that we have researched, property, schools, colleges and banks etc before flying back the following week.

I'm getting really excited now - although I'm dreading leaving the kids for 10 days I am looking forward to doing our reccie.

I'll be able to watch him take off (I probably saw him land too!), as my new office looks right over the runway.
It's pretty clear here in Auckland, but was pouring with rain earlier.

I'll be going in the opposite direction to you Kerry - I leave here on Friday night and get to Heathrow on Saturday at about lunchtime I think. Oh, and I'm going via Japan on the way out, rather than LAX, which I'm very pleased about!

Edited to add - I hope you recce goes well and that David secures a great job. Enjoy exploring Auckland.
