Hi,
for anyone that has received your docs back from NZIS (birth certs etc), how long does it take?? Do they just have a quick check and return them?? I have enclosed a special delivery envelope paid for and addressed to me with my ITA.

If i remember , it was almost as if they were checked and returned. If you copied them yourself as requested , you probably have saved at least a week!!!.

Copied the docs? Really, we need to send 2 sets? Oh god, I thought I'd read the instructions :? We put our "bits" together today, all that we have to sort are meds to see if our doc in UK will re-sign them or a NZ doc will re-sign them (advice from our Case Officer!).

I think if you send "original" documents, you also need to provide a copy. I assume they check the original, keep the copy, and return your original to you. I think they also request that the package be ordered so that the original is in front of the copy.

We got our back in the same bundle as our Passports with Visas. Whlel process took about 14 days.

I have sent originals and/or certified copies and placed an extra copy beneath each original/cert copy as it stated in the pack. The only things they don't want copies of is the application, police checks and medicals.

Don't panic, unless you didn't copy the originals. I am sure that they asked for copies of certified copies.
But to be honest i cannot really remember. All i rememeber was that if we didn't copy them ,they were going to charge something like £30 for them to do it.
Now panic. that helps get rid of the homesickness

I was in a dilemma as to how many of the originals were needed to fotocopied and certified. Quals, birth certs, marriage certs, work references, job offers. contracts and payslips etc etc.

In the end I sent all the originals (each in a see thru pocket), and they sent all my originals in a week.

Note that I am In Christchurch and would not know the situation if applying from off shore.
