'would just like to ask some quick questions.
do all skilled migrant applicants undergo personal interviews? (with / without job offer) and has to go to branches where they lodged their ITA?
and if no job offer, is it really likely that you'll receive WTR instead (at the very most)? anyone here without job offer but given residency?
thanks!

I think these are on a case-by-case basis. The case officer wants to know if you can settle. If he/she is unsure, an interview will be conducted. If after this, they don't think you can settle, they will tend on the side of WTR instead of granting PR straight up.
I had a job offer and no interview. I don't think anyone with a job offer gets interviewed by NZIS, it would be pretty shocking to be honest.

Hi,
I (principal applicant) had a telephone interview with our case officer once we had lodged our ITA....we didn't have a job offer! It was quite simple (very relaxed) and only lasted around 10 minutes max - they just wanted to know why we wanted to move to NZ, our plans etc. I think most people without job offers are inteviewed....honestly nothing to worry about! We were warned about it right at the beginning of teh process :)
We were then offered residency straight away, having no job offer and never having been to the country!:nice1

@potato: thanks! i don't have a job offer, so i guess most likely they'll ask for an interview.
@smitjo: that's great! mine would be a personal interview i guess..but even with WTR, i'd be happy. (just not decline please...)
