I submitted my ITA with 110 points and no job offer. I contacted my case officer to know about the average processing time in my case. I received an email from the case officer stating that it might take about 6 months to process my ITA. Do all the applicants without job offer need to face an interview? Is it must that all the applicants without job offer will be granted a WTR instead of PR? I am getting impatient!!!!. I have been reading the messages of other member how they got selected within weeks!!!. Fingers crossed i am waiting for a positive response from NZIS. Anybody with a similar position as mine? I definitely need some encouraging experiences from you guys!!!

I got this as the standard processing time too ( applied in Beijing)

I think so. Phone interview, about 10 mins me, 10 mins my wife basically answering questions we have received by email earlier.

Is it must that all the applicants without job offer will be granted a WTR instead of PR?

No I got PR without job offer.

I am getting impatient!!!!.

If you have a good reason why you would need a decision on your ITA earlier than the 6 months, write a polite letter (email) to your CO stating the reasons. We did so and the decision was made 4 months after ITA submission.

Good luck. If you are confident in your 110 points and know what you want to do in NZ (especially if things do not go all according to plan A once there) there is a good chance you get PR.

Cheers, Holm

Yossarian i submitted it in Shanghai branch. I am trying to apply for jobs in New Zealand. But most of the employers say i need to be a resident or citizen to apply for the jobs. Any suggestions as to how i can convince the employers that my PR can be granted if i am offered the job??

unfortunately that the case for most of us. i tried jobs posted online as well and they usually won't entertain you unless you are in NZ already or hold valid working permits.

i'll be submitting my ITA in Beijing Branch.

If you get an ITA with 110 points + NO job offer, you will probably be approved for PR, but it will take a while to process. Remember, they process them in order of importance. Eg. PR applicants with job offers in industries on long term skills shortage lists come first- ALWAYS.

If you have 110 points and something on your EOI was misrepresented (by accident or on purpose to be sneaky :uhoh) and you cannot back up your claim that got your the 110 point total, then you will lose points and do run the risk of not getting PR because you need a minimum of 100 points to get PR. The only reason for the long ITA form is to prove your EOI claim of 110 points. If you were honest on your EOI, then its just a waiting game.. and yes it's mind numbingly slow sometimes. :no.

My advice for the waiting period, is to go dancing :raebanana and drink a few beers! :cheers

For others still wanting a job offer/WTR from overseas- I would suggest taking a reccy trip to NZ for a few weeks and do an all out interviewing blitz. It's worth it, but it's tiring.....and it can be expensive if you don't plan it out well.

Best of luck!
John

This mostly true... BUT what hiring managers and recruiters get excited about is when you telling them you are taking a reccy trip and will be there in a month for interviews. This is when they get EXCITED. I know from experience.. :yes

You cannot get a work permit without a job offer so it's also your responsibility to educate the employer on that subject sometimes too. The exception is to be here (NZ) on a current work permit & working somewhere in NZ, then you quit your current job (in NZ) then go to work for someone else in NZ. Then you have to tell NZIS you work for the new employer.

Cheers...
