home sickness that is. I am sat here at 12.20 at night , listening to 5live ,and missing ...........well i am not quite sure what..... Things have been great , but this evening i don't know. OH has the job ,and the boy's have settled well at school. We live in a northern town, where jobs are scares and seems to be "who you know rather than what you know". ( although someone i have met hd nodded me in a direction of a job... and she's in the human resourse dept)
The whole thing is compounded by finding out that the nurse training i was hoping to do ,is now no longer taking place at the local hospital, but on 120 km away. Any one who knows NZ roads knows ,although not far ,it is on NZ's roads. Never , mind ,maybe it's time to reassess. Sorry for boring you all, i am boring myself
Chips, who actually quite likes NZ.

Hang on in there chips!

It is just life's ups and downs affecting the brain. :? ;)

Don't call it "homesickness" ... call it "nostalgic feelings for the previous place of abode". Your home is in NZ now. :nice1

If you were here in the UK, you would be wishing you were in NZ. :yes

:cheers

And know that its very natural to get homesickness. and it does strike when you least expect it.. or in my case when things aren't going too well here in NZ.

Do you feel everyone else is settled but you? Does that worry you? It did me, although it was the plan that I would take time out (after my crappy 2004) I still felt "lost" and lacking in something.. can't explain .. and that sometimes triggered the homesickness..

I totally agree Moorf. I haven't really got into a 'normal' way of life yet. Like you I'm staying up late and I'm not going out to work yet, which is very odd for me. I'm not really homesick but feel very disconnected at the moment.

Hang on in there Chantelle, something will turn up. could you do a correspondance course in something? There seem to be loads of them available.

Has your shipment turned up yet? Maybe you will feel a little better once you have you familiar things around you.

I have to admit to hardly feeling homesick at all (I think my boys keep me too busy) apart from when things go a little pear shaped although I still manage to keep things on an even keel.

Let us know if things are feeling better in the light of day!!

I don't deny that i'm glad we have made the move, doubly so when i see the boys bouncing to school without any shoes on. May for MOH and the boy's their roles are there for them, and us ,with out the jobs ,have to find one ,or find a new role. It's definalty that " lacking something... 2 that is strange. But it's what??

Never mind, it's going to another hot one, now that's something you CAN get used to.
