Hello everyone!

My husband and I decided to move to NZ and this forum is very helpful, thank you for sharing all this information; it's good to know the experiences of others, even if things in our country don't work the same as in UK or USA.

We did not send the EOI yet as my husband is going to graduate from a second university this year in July. I have an MA in cultural studies, currently a PhD student(1st year). After reading, searching and so on we thought that we would like to go to Christchurch area, but this depends on whether my hubby is going to find a good job in IT there.

Cheers!:cheers

Hello :)
yes, waiting until the course is finished and you have the certificate in hand is probably a good idea :)

there's plenty of research you can do in the meantime :)

Thank you! Multumesc pentru urarea de bun venit!

We are from Romania...i have this philosophy about international citizens and I do not feel so proud about my country, probably most of you saw on the news the bad aspects of Romania. On the other hand, we did not go to a web site for Romanian immigrants because i have nothing to say to people who try escape the legal steps of this complex immigration process.( some of them came to NZ and ruined the reputation of all Romanians). It is disturbing to read the posts of Romanian immigrants who say that Maori are so mean and evil. Most keep a deep resentment against any person with darker skin (in Romania gypsy people have approximately the same color as Maori and this explains from a psychological point of view the attitude). I apologize to those Romanians who did everything according to the law.
Corruption is a bad bad thing(fueled in Romania by Romanians themselves - no point in hiding such aspects), and my husband and I are trying to leave that behind.

Cu placere. I haven't heard any bad things about Romanian émigrés, so possibly it's only an embarrassment to other Romanians :)

Corruption or not - you certainly live in a beautiful country! We travelled round Romania for a few months in 97 and thought it had some of the most beautiful areas we'd seen. So you'll already be used to plenty of stunning countryside when you come over here!
Good luck with everything.
