Hi All,

Could anyone roughly explain what the ITA comprises of? Some members seem to take a couple of months to complete it.

We are hoping to get it turned around in a fortnight if possible. Is there any weird documents that we may need to track down?

Many Thanks

Tim and Michelle.

the ITA itself is the information you provided in your EOI. The stuff that takes time is the supporting documentation you need to provide:
medical results
police check
any certificates for qualifications claimed as points
job offer (if any)
birth certificates (full copies)
proof of relationship - if required.

some of these can take a while to get organised, the police certificate can take a while, although there is now a fast track option, medicals will need to wait for blood test results and then the doctors actually sending them back to you and so on...

oh and of course valid passports with (I think) a couple of years left valid on them

Hi

Many thanks for a quick reply.

That will be no problem at all then. We have got all of those things ready, apart from medicals.

Thanks again,

Tim.

You may need to get your qualifications verified by NZQA, that can take an age. But you might be lucky :)

The only thing that slowed us down was the medicals, otherwise if you plan ahead it shouldn't be a big deal.

Then of course there's the BIG FAT CHEQUE, and I'm not talking about Vaclav Havel.

Thanks again for the reply,

Luckily I've escaped the dreaded NZQA process as I have to be registered with a professional body in order to work and therefore get except.

All the info and doc's listed above we've got ready and waiting, just a small matter of the EOI being selected on the 9th!!!! However have submitted with only 105 points (waiting for job offer) so we'll wait and see.

Cheers for the advice.

Tim.

PS I sure that is extreemly funny but sadly lost on me:nice1

Is that right that passports need a couple of years left on them? For everyone in the family? Coz one of our kids runs out Jan 09, so do we need to re-new now?

Can't quite remember how long you need on them but we renewed all of ours. Partly because OHs was about to run out, partly because son's would have run out within a year, importantly to save the hassle of making sure the PR stickers got renewed as we weren't sure how that happenes. Just gave us peace of mind really.

We renewed (in UK) at a relatively quiet time (i.e. not 2wks before the school hols) using the pre-checking service the post office offer and got them back within a fortnight.

I may be thinking of work visas rather than PR apps, all i could find on the NZIS website was a brief reference hat your passport needs to be 'current' which wasn't terribly helpful.

I've been checking on this as well, and can't find any actual immigration requirements for passport. Technically you can even have a permit without needing a passport.

I would expect that the passport has to be valid purely from a travelling perspective i.e. certain countries won't allow transit unless there is a certain amount of time still valid on the passport e.g. 6 months.

The actual RRV can be transferred from an old passport to a new one without any problems (apart from the cost) so don't think that would be an issue either.

Of course, renewing a passport from abroad and also having to pay for the transfer of the RRV from old to new passport all add up to cost and hassle so would suspect that is why most people would try and get their passport up-to-date before emigrating.

Hi Tim,

From your messages I understand that your EOI is not selected yet. With 105 points w/o job offer you might not make it depending on the criteria. Also EOI selected date is not the same as ITA issued date (in our case there were 4 months in between).

Some of the documents to be submitted need to be quite recent, such as police certificates and medicals. It seems you have the police certificates already. They might be outdated when you will submit you application.

If I misunderstood your situation, just ignore my post!

Good luck,
Holm

yes, that's right. police clearance, for example, has to be less than 6 months old. (i had to get two police clearances because of this..)

but regarding the selection, it's all up to NZI, good luck! i got 110 points only (no job offer) but waited only about 2 weeks or so before getting selected.
