Dropped off my ITA to NZ House on Tuesday, the guy I got was very vague on the timings up to 4 months and then 1-3 months to process the application. This is a bit longer than I had hoped for. It would speed up if I have a job offer but I don’t intend to start looking until we have a buyer for the house.

Anyone recently had their ITA (Skilled Migrant) processed in London without a Job Offer?

And if so how long did it take?

Hi,

According to the London branch website as of the 21st March they were allocating ITA's that were lodged up to the 16th December. So it looks like there is minimum of a three month wait before your ITA is even given to a case officer let alone processed.

Anyway good luck with the house sale.

Thanks Jenny,

I read that a while ago and for some reason got it into my head that it referred to the EOI rather than ITA.

Oh well I guess I'll have a 4 month wait minimum then.:(

Dropped off our ITA at NZ house on August 26th last year, phone interviews came through just 5 months later, longer than we thought.
Good luck with selling your house.

Hi Peter,

We submitted our ITA in January (without job offer) and have just heard that our case has been assessed and my husband has a phone interview on Wednesday. So.. you are looking at roughly 3-4 months before you hear anything, unless of course you get a job offer and then you would be fast tracked.

Best wishes,

JO

Hi, can you say when you submitted it and was it London as I'm interested how far they have got into 2008.
We put ours in on 6th Feb, so waiting not very patiently now.
Thanks

We submitted ours on 12th March with a job offer and provided extra documents by 21st and not heard anything yet, some people have heard much qiucker than this - mild panic setting in :roll
What does 'fast tracked' mean in time scale any one know?
As the NZIS site is still down I can't even get my 'fix' of multiple checks each day!!!

Hi

We submitted our ITA on 25th Feb with a job offer and provided extra documents by 18th March. Our case-officer then informed us that due to 'background verification checks' we are unlikely to get the PR in time for our flight out (8th of May) and that therefore we are advised to go meanwhile the temporary work visa route. Now, £180 lighter (2 x £80 + £20 for notary certification) and 3 days after submitting the application, we are the 'proud owners' of 3-year work visas. The PR process is stumbling along in the background...

Jo & Russ,

Forget what I asked, we have actually just heard from our case officer. :cheers .
So that was just over 2 months.

There seems to be no rhyme or reason. We hand delivered ours to London first week in January with no job offer expecting several months, had phone interview two weeks later and passports returned with blue stickers by Feb 4. I know others had quick returns early Jan and assumed we just hit a quiet time but now read some of your comments about people from December still waiting. Very confusing.

Thanks everyone for your answers, the wait does seem to be getting shorter going by Rustys post.

And even 3-4 months is not too bad all things considered.

It seems that they're working hard.

From the London branch website:

"Once the pre-populated application form is returned to the London branch it should be allocated to a visa officer within four months. As an example, for the week ending 11th April 2008 we are allocating files lodged up to and including 27th February 2008."

Wow they are speeding up :D , they were still looking at files from December in the end of March!

To Peter and Liz,

We submitted our ITA on the same day as you (1st April 2008) - well we sent it from Canada earlier than that but it actually arrived in London on the 1st April - and we found out today by post that our Permanent Residence has been approved ("in principle" as they still need our passports to put the permit inside) :)

I just thought I'd let you know as our situation is similar in that we also had one job offer.

So hopefully yours should be on its way very soon....

I am quite impressed with the speed of the application as we were expecting to have to wait for at least 2-3 months! It must have taken them less that 2 weeks to process it as it usually takes about four/five days for post to get to Canada from the UK.

Good luck anyway,
Cheers,

Justine and Ben

ooops.. sorry Peter and Liz, I just re-read your initial message and it says you didn't have an offer of employment, (I thought you did) so our timings won't be quite so relevant to you.

Anyway, perhaps it might be relevant to someone else out there.

Good luck all!

:raebanana :raebanana :raebanana

I am getting worried tho' as we submitted our ITA with job offer on the 12th March and at the begining of this week our medical date changed - but that's all??

It may not be releven, but our medical date changed and also the woring changed to full mediacl received a few days before we were accepted.
You never know, always something to cling on to.

Congratulations Justine and Ben :raebanana :raebanana :raebanana

They certainly seem to be processing a lot quicker than at the end of last year. :D

Good Luck with your move.
