Our kids have got some National Savings. What do we do with these? Can we leave them where they are? Or, if we're no longer resident in Uk , do we have to cash them in and re-invest in something similar in NZ? Is there anything similar in NZ?

I still have premium bonds from the UK, they do something similar I believe out here, not had time to look yet but I'm sure someone will come up with a link for you.
For premium bonds it said something about checking with the country you move to then you just change your address with them

So no reason why grandparents can't still pay into them is there? Even with NZ address on?

For the equivalent of premium bonds in NZ, see Bonus Bonds (http://www.bonusbonds.co.nz/index.html)

I haven't got a clue but would/could you be perhaps in some angle be exposing yourself to a UK tax liability at some point, the only thing I can think of!

Pretty sure you're under no obligation to move them from the UK NS&I scheme. We haven't moved the ones for our kids and I think we checked, but have to confess I can't actually remember for certain.
