Come across this site by accident, had a look and thought i would join up.
Brief circs. I am a soon to retire Police officer aged 51. Wife of 42 who is a data clerk for the NHS and we have a 7 year old son.
We are visiting NZ in August where so far, i have got 3 job interviews lined up with insurance companies as a fraud investigator. Going down the WTR route as my police skills count for nothing. Everything sounds hopeful up to now and we are hoping to be out there by about October. Looking at the Bay of Plenty area or maybe a bit closer to Hamilton/Auckland. Depends on where i end up working.

hello, sounds like your plans are well under way, good luck with them.
I am surprised to hear your police experience isn't more highly valued, but glad you've found an other route to take.

Welcome to the forum!

I am exactly like you, found this forum by pure accident and found it invaluable.

We have been here a year this week and all love it. We have a son 5.5 and he is doing fantastic, which was our main concern.

Good luck with your plans, i am sure everything will turn out well for you all and you will love it here just like we do!

Hi Welcome!

I'm no plastic scouser - I'm the real thing - although i did emigrate to Wirral from Anfield many years ago when I was 22 (now that was a BIG move - over the water to a different land and culture!!).

Now in West Kirby, Wirral and if we can cope with the loss from family / friends / history we hope to may make to move to NZ

Not even a plastic scouser. A Cumbrian originally. Moved to Bebington when i left the Army in 83, married a New Ferry girl and lived here since.
Could think of worse places to live but can think of better places too, like North Island!!
