Depending on what you are looking for there are a number of options. If you're after waterproof, outdoor activity type stuff you could try Rebel Sports or Kathmandu. For general clothing there is the Warehouse, K Mart, Ezi Buy etc. If you can get to one of the big shopping malls like the Albany Mega Centre or Sylvia Park you will find a larger range of clothing shops.

Bivouac in Queen St and Newmarket is a much cheaper outdoor shop than Kathmandu...if it is waterproofs/fleeces/thermals etc that you are looking for. They stock many good quality brands, including European e.g. Berghaus and North American e.g. North Face. Plus they will do discounts on more expensive purchases if you ask nicely :)
