In 1 week the container arrives! Our passports are in Wellington, waiting for their stamps (have approvalin principle). We are doing the mad rush of closing up last ends: packing the last items, getting school records, husband has to go to the dentist!

The good byes have started too! Very hard as we each have older fathers. (both of our mothers passed away) I am a wreck each time I even talk to my Dad. Thank God he is so excited for us! Has anyone else gone through this too? I am hoping it will be easier once we go and start our constant email and Skype communication to the Fathers.... maybe it will seem that we aren't so very far away...?

ANyhow, living in this torn apart house with boxes everywhere for the last month has been depressing... what a wreck!

We are excited beyond words. Headed to Chch about the 17th or so via LAX... Anyone else going that way?

Good on you! It's so encouraging to see that you pepper your post with the word "excited" in relation to both you and your family's (dad's) attitude.

It goes without saying, and you're probably a lot more efficient than I, but for what it's worth something we have found and are finding v.useful at hectic times is to have both of us literally stand over a project (whether that be arranging paperwork, planning a move, or whatever) and double check each item with each other, out loud, and piece by piece! It feels a bit Fisher-Price at times, but, boy, we think it's worth it! :yes :laugh

I see you are the 'ballet family'! I am in the arts also. Eager to see what I can find and create in a niche of an arts and arts business in NZ!
So glad NZ government considers the arts important enough to include in their areas of future growth! Can't say there is any evidence of it being high in consideration in the US!
Husband is in the food business and Sales/Marketing.
