Hi All
Been thinking about a move to NZ for sometime and having found/read this forum I thought we'd say hello. So, hello.
My wife and I had decided to emigrate from Manchester (UK) as soon as our family was complete (we have a 21 month old daughter and another baby on the way at the beginning of May) and have found this forum very helpful with loads of great advice.
We are using an agent (I know we could have done it ourselves but with sleepless nights looming we picked the easier route) to do as much of the work as possible and they are teamed up with a job agency over there so hopefully things should go soothly.
I work in IT (Systems Administrator/IT Manager) and need a job offer before the EOI can be submitted so our plans are to prepare all the paperwork over the next few months and then sell up and go over in early 09 and get a job as quick as (sounds so easy but am sure it won't be) and then get the PR process moving as quick as from that end. Unfortunetly I'm not in a position to go over for interviews as I don't want to leave my wife with two kids on her own so we will have to "take the plunge" and sell up and go over on a vistors visa or something. Still it all adds to the adventure!
Looking at Christchurch as a possible destination (apparently they are short of IT guys there) but will go where the work is ultimately.
We can't wait.........
Will keep you all posted on our progress or lack there of.
