Another thread mentioned Mt Cook/Maori and it reminded me of this info... so much to learn!

I love the bit about how Mt Cook "chooses" to show itself (like a Chief giving audience).. so we felt priviledged that the mountain was in full view for our two day adventure at the tail end of last year :P

Know what you mean with sense of privilege Moorf...only yesterday I was up one of our local crags when it decided to conceal itself...new mountain, new route, sharp drops and vision down to three feet :eek

I felt priviledged she wanted to keep me :laugh

Have fond memories of the Lake District - and sticky ribs up at the Masons Arms in Strawberry Bank (Cartmell Fell!).... is it still going strong?
