I bought my tickets to fly to NZ in July on March 31. The charge has not gone through on my credit card yet, so I called Air NZ to make sure everything was okay (after contacting my credit card company to make sure it was okay on their end).

The woman I talked to on the phone was amazing. She assured me everything was okay and was checking to make sure I had everything set to go. She also inquired as to why we only has one way tickets. I explained our situation and we got in a lovely discussion about Veterinarians and registration and the career. Apparently one of her nieces is a Veterinarian. We had a very nice conversation. It was a lovely experience that has never occurred to me when calling any company in the USA.

This makes me even more excited about the move! :yes

I know when I called them to check on something before our flight they were realy friendly & chatty, as soon as they saw one way tickets there were loads of questions about what we were going to do & where we were going, a good experience.

I'm another who had a lovely chat with an Air NZ lady when checking detail before our trip last August. It's great to find you're talking to an intelligent human being rather than somebody who's like a robot working to a programmed script.

We had that with Air NZ and lots of other call centres since we've been here; it is very strange having a human on the other end of the phone who isn't reading from a script!

What was most surprising to me was she seemed happy to help!

On calls I've had with US companies, once you get past the machines and talk to someone, they always seem put out and like they're rushing to get you off the phone.

I was surprised when I phoned my bank the other day & someone answered the phone, I was speechless for a moment & said "Oh I wasn't expecting to speak to someone"
