I've got a 5 year old son on the Autism Spectrum. High functioning PDD-NOS. How old is your girl? Being able to get appropriate treatment for our son will probably be the make-it or break-it for us staying or taking the plunge.

We received our ITA in the post a few weeks ago. Like you, we also declared it up front. Did y'all apply in an area of shortage? Have a job offer? Just curious.

Pooria, I guess you're going to phone or email NZIS and ask about your ITA?

Hi Britzy
I'm thrilled for you, but also hopeful for us!! I'm not sure if you remember, I'm a teacher with a daughter with PDD-NOS, not so high functioning. She will need ORRS but have been under the impression that because of this, we will would automatically be excluded. I have received my NZ teacher registration and we thought I would go over in Oct to find a job for 2009. Then we would go and apply while there, hoping that our chances would be greater if they could see that we were settled and paying tax! I'm not so sure about getting my little girl into a school tho'. I am so thrilled for you both and will be watching your progress. Our little girl has communication problems, intent, but apraxia. Her receptive language is good and I'm hoping this will help. We are rather terrified!! but still keen to try as SA is becoming unbearable. Will you submit your ITA once you are there?
