Hello all... Been browsing for a while and thought I should finally make a post.

I've currently filled in my EOI but have'nt submitted it yet, I've got 105 Points and applying under the Skilled Category.

My question is...

Should I submit it now with 105 points or try to wait until I get a job offer???

I'm currently looking for a Job in NZ and ideally would like an offer before putting in my EOI.

Can the EOI form status / points be changed if its submitted and then I get a job offer????

Thanks for any help.

Bry

Hi Bry, and welcome aboard.
As you have above the magic 100 mark already, I would difinately say get you EOI in before they move the goal posts. If you then get a job offer as well, I believe NZIS will automatically award you extra points.
With 100 or more, you are virtually certain to be drawn from the pool, with or without job offer.
What line of work are you in? (I know, I am nosey )

Hi Brys.Welcome. ;) It all depends on you and whether the time is right for you.It wont matter if you submit now or if you have an offer of employment. As long as you have 100 points or more you can apply. If your circumstances change you can add additional info onto your application. All the best.Bev :hopeso :hopeso :hopeso

Welcome

Submit now, We submitted with 115 points, and have just got successful with no job offer.

So it you think you have everything done, go for it. There is no guarantee the points will always stay at 100, and you wouldn't want to miss it.

Good Luck :hopeso

I agree you should go ahead and submit now.

If you get a job offer, then you can tell them, you'll get the extra points and be moved to the top of the pile.

Today you have a pass mark, the current pass mark is 100 and while the general consenus is that it'll stay there for a while. No one can say 100% where the passmark will be in 3 months. 8 months ago the pass marks was over 160. If you wait you run the risk of not having a passing score. If you submit, you risk nothing.

We got PR without a job offer, whole process from EOI to visa tok 5 months.

Timbo, I'm in Control Systems (PLC, Automation etc) so hopefully jobs should'nt be too much trouble but you never know....

I really need to find out more info about salaries as well, but it's quite difficult getting that info..... for me anyway
