Just wondering what newborn nappies people have used in NZ?
Going to start on HoneyChild washables as soon as the baby will fit into a medium but until then I'll use disposable & just wondered if anyone can recommend a brand, I've always used either Pampers or Huggies but was hoping to use a cheaper one maybe
Thank you :cheers

Our babies are 5 months old and were in Pampers in the UK. When we got here we tried the cheap ones (Treasures I think) but they leaked really badly (and after having to spend ages clearing poo up from a car seat we gave up with them).
We now use Huggies and they are pretty good. You can get them in big boxes at Pak & Save for a bit more than you would pay in the UK and, importantly, they don't leak!
Still prefer Pampers but not available here - no matter how much I bug my cousin who sells Procter & Gamble products to the major NZ supermarkets!! :)

Thanks for that, that was one I was looking at so maybe not bother. I also preferred Pampers as find Huggies don't always hold enough over night, bug your cousin some more & get Pampers here please :)

Treasure Ultra is not cheap compare with Huggies but very good. However I have found all nappies "leak" at night anyway, same as familyofmonkey's problem while back. I think you were talking about Treasure "giggles" (?) which is cheap but not good :no
My baby used reusable nappies from birth and used treasure/huggies nappies, whatever in sale, at nights. I have just brought booster liners to help with nighttime leaks, hope this will help us.

My youngest was 12 weeks old when we came over and was in Pampers New Baby nappies at the time....same nappies my older 2 wore and no problems. Here we use huggies (after trying pretty much all other brands) and find that they still leak occasionally, but are the best NZ has to offer......I still wish pampers were here, especially those active fit nappies :wah
Ended up having to really cut down on night time bf to reduce leaking problems....not an ideal solution at all but baby was leaking through a nappy in 2-3 hours at night and we ended up having to wake him up and completely strip him off twice a night....not a good was to encourage sleeping through :o

Looks like it's Huggies then.
We are still using them on our 2 1/2 year old at night & still have to change her before we go to bed & when she wakes in the morning she's full to burst, roll on dry nights, better still still roll on dry days :wah

We have been using airplus from www.babyonline.co.nz, and havent had a leak in ages... apart from the kind of leak that no nappy in the known universe would hold!
I know a few others that use them too and think they are great.
If you register on the website, they should send you a sample to try...

Yes quite a few of my friends swear by airplus too :nice1 .
We use Huggies, I tend to type the size and type into Google NZ whenever I'm running a bit low and go for the best deal at that time.
Last time I managed to get Huggies Walker for $0.39 each from:
www.babies.co.nz
But as I say, I shop around each time and buy in bulk.
Cheers

Hi
We are using Huggies here with both our children. (2 weeks old and 19 months). With Ben we tried all sorts finding the nappies were different shapes so more or less effective. Huggies was the best fit for him and subsequently leakage minimal. We are not quite at that stage with our youngest yet.
One thing we did notice when we went to the UK last year. Huggies in the UK and NZ are not the same. In the UK they are much less bulky and a different shape so we ended up having to change to a different brand whilst there as they leaked like anything on Ben.

We tend to go for the deals on babyonline.co.nz but are currently using dry ups with our 6 week old and had no leaks so far

Also used dotties with out 19 month old which seemed good.
