My oh has just had a routine medical at work, and been told he has high blood pressure. He has made an appointment to go and see His doctor.
Does anyone know whether this is likely to be an issue when we go for our medicals? Sorry don't know what the readings where, and although His bmi is within the limits, it is only about 5 points below the max.
Any help or advice much appreciated.
Thanks

Don't worry Cath, I have mild high blood pressure which is controlled with medication. I passed the medical.

Tell OH to get it sorted though, its known as the silent killer as there are no symptoms.

I have high blood pressure, and had it for a few years before I submitted my PR application. the key word is "controlled". They want to know that your blood pressure is controlled....by medication. so as soon as they get your OH on a medication that works and levels out the blood pressure you will be fine. Not to worry..

Thanks Kanatakiwi, we're hoping that He just had a high reading due to all the stress of our house sale - not going as smoothly as we had expected.
At least with the knowledge that it shouldn't affect His medical, this should help with the doctors appointment!!

Oh had borderline high blood pressure at medical and was just noted by the doctor - he got a bit of a talking to by the doctor but didn't affect the medical as we all passed :)

Very stressful process moving to the other side of the world :yes

All the best
