Went to a lovely display last night in a local village. It felt really autumnal, a 'tiny bit' of a chill in the air (well, we wore coats for the first time in months but could have got away without them) and that real smell of autumn. Completely confused me though as driving home I was thinking 'ooh, not long 'til Christmas now' and then realised we're in April, not November! One of those weird, very mixed up seasons moments. Great night though and much better than holding it here in November - at least it was dark!

Lol. I agree with you - we went to watch the fireworks in Wakefield too and somehow it kind of smelled like an English Bonfire Night too! Really don't know why or how though! We commented on the fact that we were only wearing fleeces and not 3 layers of clothes as we would normally do to watch the fireworks! But quite a good display we thought - loved those ones that exploded to make 2 interlocking circles!

What you need to do is look out for the mid year Christmas celebrations that they hold in NZ, for all those people from the northern hemisphere.
At least its a good excuse to have a party :nice1
