I have no idea and having been here for nearly 3 months, this is the first one I have seen advertised! You wont be a 'newcomer' by the time the organise the next one :laugh

Any idea what goes on in these things? I've been here over a month so I imagine I wouldn't need to attend considering I've a job/place to live.

I have no idea what goes on but if you are vaguely interested, why don't you 'flick' the organisers an email to find out more.

Hi,
I have been there once and yes, if you are really new to Wellington it is nice to attend, but if you know a bit your way around it is maybe less useful.
Cheers,
Anita

I've found out a bit more info on this event:
"An Introduction to NZ identity at Te Papa on Thursday 1 May from 5.30pm-7pm: This programme is to invite newcomers to explore NZ's history and cultural identity with a free, interactive programme at Te papa museum. This is a good opportunity to learn more about what makes New Zealanders who they are. Please RSVP by Monday 28 April at settlementsupport@wcc.govt.nz"
(thanks to WR for the email I just received :nice1 )
