There seem to be quite a few of us who've had/going to have a baby in NZ, just thought I'd see how many!

Cheers

OK, wasn't quite sure where I should post. As a Kiwi should I post in 'having a baby in my own country' or 'having a baby in NZ' as both would be true. As this is my first baby in this country (2 others were born in UK) I decided to go with 'having a baby in NZ'.

Oh, and for those who remember me (haven't been around much what with working 2 jobs, looking after the kids, studying for my post-grad cert in primary health care......) we are having our first NZ born baby in Sept! :raebanana Am loving the system here so much more than the UK.

Yep, pregnant and having my first child here in NZ, the otherside of the world from my family. But, making new friends here all the time - Sophia (Nippa & Pippa) is my 'baby mentor' and in the event of that not working..I know a lot of people who will be awake at 2am NZ time if I need to phone for help!

Am just over 33 weeks now and know its a boy - well supposedly!

All this baby news has reminded me that I feel SOOOO broody at the moment.....not having much success persuading OH to let me have another one though.....he thinks 3 is enough :wah

i'm in the "would rather have a cat/dog" camp. kids just aren't my (and luckily? my partners) thing at all. a dog seems to be just as much work as a kid anyway :D one thing i love about giving babies cuddles.....i can give them back! lol :) i say that in a nice way btw.

I finished my family in the UK before we came. I have had many broody feelings since this time, but managed to resist them. I usually find inviting a friend to stay who has a baby and a toddler does the trick at putting the lid on those broody feelings very well. So we're in the "partner has had the snip in NZ" camp. God he'll kill me if he reads this..... lucky he doesn't eh?

Hee hee - I wondered when you'd go public - congrats again! :D

I knew I wouldn't have put enough categories, I thought of:

"Having fun trying category!" also

Congrats - Not long now eh? We were discussing remedies for if you are overdue at the meet the other night, curry, sex and cod liver oil came up, although not neccessarily in that order! :p

We won't tell - honest! ;)

Keep producing you guys (gals?) - my little 20 year old baby has just qualified as a midwife and arrives in NZ this weekend to live and work in Auckland women's hospital. Make sure you keep her in work! And good luck!

Get him drunk ;) ......:laugh

Don't know about me yet....three is enough or just one more??? I just wait till baby is a year old before we can decide because we will need to get rid of baby stuff if three is enough.

Had my first two in UK and third in NZ, but I chosen "had a baby in NZ" as more recently.

Had 4 children when we were living in Ireland, and then, last Christmas, our kiwi baby girl arrived. Home delivery, very quick labour, our widwife nearly missed it..
5 children is more than enough, believe me !

Nippa & Pippa, it was multiple choice so you could have voted for more than one option, you could have even voted for the pies one as well, except I've seen the photo so I know you don't need to!

Georgebulldog, good luck with your last 7 weeks. Whenever I got out the old newborn clothes, I could never believe how small they all were!

Cheers

Hi all,

Hardly have a chance to look at the forum these days. Had beautiful baby daughter last December in the UK, so am looking forward to applying for 3 instead of 2! Or, who knows, maybe even 4 by the time we get around to it!!!
